2019 Kentucky Derby Favorites
We are still a few months away from this year’s Run for the Roses. However, it is never too early to start looking at some of the horses that have looked good in the prep races so far to figure out which one of them look like favorites to win this year’s Kentucky Derby.
With that being said, here are some of the early favorites to win the 2019 Kentucky Derby.
1. Game Winner
It wouldn’t be the Kentucky Derby without a few Bob Baffert trained horses among the favorites to win the race. This three-year-old has been impressive in the prep races so far, and has won all four races he has been entered in. He hasn’t raced since the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile in November, but he is expected to return to the track at the San Felipe Stakes in March.
2. Improbable
Furthermore, this is another Baffert trained horse that has emerged as a favorite to win the Derby. He hasn’t been entered in the prestigious races Game Winner has been in. However, he has won the three races he has been in, including the G1 Los Alamitos Futurity in December. Also, he is expected to run in the Rebel Stakes next.

3. Mucho Gusto
This Baffert trained horse has won three of the four races he has been entered in, and finished second to Improbable at the Los Alamitos Futurity. He bounced back from the second place finish by winning the Robert B. Lewis Stakes last week. His next race has not yet been announced.
4. Gunmetal Gray
In conclusion, this three-year-old is trained by Hall of Famer Jerry Hollendorfer, who is looking for his first Kentucky Derby win. He has won two of the six races he has been entered in and finished second in two more. He is expected to run in the San Felipe Stakes next month.
