Updated Kentucky Derby 2018 Predictions

Kentucky Derby 2018 Odds Predictions

1. Justify (3-1)

Since he defeated Bolt d’Oro at the Santa Anita Derby, Justify has been the favorite to win the Kentucky Derby. He will be trying to become the first horse to win the Derby without racing as a two-year-old.

2. Mendelssohn (4-1)

Even though the voters in the media poll dropped him to number five, Mendelssohn is considered one of the top contenders in the Kentucky Derby. If he gets a favorable gate draw on Tuesday, don’t be surprised to see the odds to win change.

3. Audible (13-2)

Despite winning four of his five starts, Audible has been unable to generate the type of interest Justify and Mendelssohn have garnered through the qualification process. The good news is at his current odds, he is a great value pick that could provide a big payday if he wins.

4. Magnum Moon (8-1)

Magnum Moon moved up the contenders list after his win at the Arkansas Derby, but he was leapfrogged by the other horses a couple of weeks later. At 8-1, Magnum Moon provides great value because he is undefeated and very capable of winning the race.

5. Bolt d’Oro (9-1)

The early qualification favorite has seen his popularity fade as we get closer to the Kentucky Derby. Bolt d’Oro won four of his qualification races and finished 3rd and 2nd in the other two races he didn’t win. Like Magnum Moon and Audible, Bolt d’Oro is capable of winning this race, and at 9-1 odds, he will be very hard to resist.
